Shipments Sent
During 2007 twelve containers were sent, having a value of $3.1 million and a weight of 120 tons. Three 40-foot containers were sent to the Sisters of the Poor in Naga City, The Philippines. This ministry provides food, shelter, clothing, schooling, and spiritual help to those living on the city dump. This includes disabled children who are frequently abandoned at the dump. Other destinations include:
- Two 40-foot containers to NazPak, a Christian group in Pakistan reaching out to those affected by the horrendous earthquake that occurred in 2006. The local hospitals are in great need of both supplies and equipment, which we provided.
- A 40-foot container to Ndumberi, Kenya to supply a new clinic that will provide affordable care to people living about an hour away from Nairobi. The clinic will serve hundreds of people who cannot get to care or afford it at the city hospital.
- A 40-foot container to Pilar, Argentina containing a commercial kitchen and furniture for sleeping rooms that will be used at a Christian conference center serving as a gathering place for Christian groups throughout South America.
- A 40-foor container to a hospital in Georgetown, Guyana where no one is turned away because they cannot afford the needed care.
- Other smaller shipments have gone to Honduras, Ecuador, Papua New Guinea, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
- Two containers to Africa in November 2007; one to Somalia and the other to Somliland.
